PUT A HEX ON IT.

I have many projects on the go at the moment.
Most of them have been on the go for so long they have gained a thick blanket of dust and are in danger of being rediscovered by archaeologists in 400 years time.
I seem to have lost the ability to finish any thing.
So in this situation, the best thing to do is to start something new.
At some point whilst clearing up pre and post move I came across this box of hexies.

They were part of the crafting stash of a lady called Joan, the Grandmother of my best friend at primary school, that I sort of inherited a few years ago.
I thought it would be easy to piece them together one at a time, following no pattern or formula.

The idea is this collection of random hexiness will be the border on a skirt.
But at this rate I may well be so old by the time its finished the only clothing I could cope with would be a droopy, baggy old velour tracksuit.

  1. Oh Jane, it is just exquisite! Beautiful work and I love that you are piecing together the fabric collection of your best friend's grandmother :) I still haven't used the lovely fabrics you gave me from that collection yet (it is the same one, isn't it?) I'm going to have to put my thinking cap on. This is very inspiring :) Kx

  3. I really want to see the skirt so I'd request that you finish it before your velour tracksuit days kick in :). The mix of fabrics are going to look fantastic randomly pieced together.

  4. I have the same philosophy myself, it's just that I've never admitted it before, not even to myself.

  5. love your theory...if you have too many pieces to finish then start something new. Perfect!
