WHAT A LUCKY GIRL I AM.
I have been awarded an award.
From not one but two lovely lovely bloggers.
Its called the liebster award.

Thank you Ladies I am very flattered.
The Liebster award comes with some rules.
A Liebster blog award is given to blogs that are gaining popularity but have less than 200 followers. The rules for nominating are:

1. Thank the giver and link back to her/him.
2. Reveal your top picks and leave a comment on their blog.
3. Copy and paste the award on your blog.
4. Have faith that your followers will spread the love too!
And so I had to think of some lovely bloggers out there to pass the award on to.
I chose some from amongst my loyal followers, some from the list of fab blogs I follow and some from people I have got to know through the various and strange ways the world of blogging can throw at you.
So here they are:

Sewphie over at Threadhead
her embroidery is really something else, check out the wrestler, I love it and am so glad she stumbled across me so I can now check out her work more regularly!

Anneliese the Stitching Lady.
I got to know Anneliese when I was taking part in Karen's button class last year (which by the way is running again check it out here.)
Any way back to the point, I really enjoy the sense of fun and colour in her work.

I have to put my hand up and say that the next blogger is a really close and much beloved friend of mine. However nepotisim aside Simon is an amazing textile designer who lives and works in Bali, when he isn't curating exhibitions in Japur or advising the BBC on dyeing tecniques for documentarys on Indian textiles. So I implore you to check out Simon Marks-Gadabout.

I first met Betty last year at Wayward in St Lenoards on Sea.
Not only does she sell you the most beautiful Vintage fabrics and notions, she is also a makeup artist for all the bright young things of the vintage revival.

will always have a very special place in my heart, she was one of the very first followers I had when I first started out on this journey, we have become friends over the years, though in that odd way of blogging we have never met and probably know very little about each others lives, however I do know she is always willing to join in when I come up with another hairbrained scheme, and that dear readers means a lot!

And finally Teje La Arana
who I found via Flickr and her amazing yarn bombing feats in Madrid.

And so all is left is for me to thank my Mum for giving birth to me, my Dad for giving me red hair, my Great Auntie Thora for giving me my over whelming appreciation of a table buckling under the weight of food upon it, my Grandma for teaching me to knit, my brother for allowing me to practice becoming the bossy old bag I really am on him and finally my Great Auntie Winnie via my Great Grandad for making the ability to sew something in my DNA rather than a skill I have learnt.
Love Nora xxx

ps I haven't forgotten that I promised you something exciting , I shall tell all tomorrow.

  1. Oh Nora, I am more than just flattered - I am so surprised by your award, "the most beloved one" (which is the direct translation of this "Liebster") - you award me!! Whereas I adore your work and your way of writing - and it is no exaggeration to state that looking into your blog brightens the greyest February-day. I should award you back - my young cyberfriend!
