RAIN RAIN GO AWAY COME AGAIN ANOTHER DAY
Rather than get even more depressed about the constant never ending rain and storms, I thought I would stitch all those feelings up and then leave them behind and wait for the sunny happy times to come back.
A washed out palate of grey and blue linen and bobbin net.
Distressed and frayed.
And stitched in to with the rain.

Until there are no drops left.
This is the first in a hopefully year long creative project being hosted by Alex of Lola Nova.
You can read all the details here if you wish to join in too.

  1. I do like this, did you hand sew each rain drop? And I am interested in what you will be doing with it now it's finished?

    1. Hi Amanda, the raindrops are all free motion machine embroidered. Its part of a stitched journal project, one piece a month for 12 months. Not sure yet exactly how i will be displaying them, but figure it will come to me as I progress through time! Thanks for asking. xxx

  8. this is GREAT!!! I think this is what the project was all about….what I had in my head; maybe next month….I just 'doodled' on some knitting I was creating.

  9. I like the structure of the fabric you used and the raindrops are so delicate. It really looks like rain.

  10. Looking at this stitched page, i'm really feeling rain, earing rain, and as i am a front of a scupture, il would like to pass my hands over it to touch this rain. Is it really a "rain-go-away" work or mostly a "love-song-for-the-rain-behind-the-window" ? It's beautiful !

  11. Wow - this is really impressive. I can imagine using panels of fabric, each inspired by different weather events, to stitch a long skirt. You make the most beautiful things.
