LADYBIRD BY DESIGN
This week my friend Clare had a very convenient birthday.
Not only did it fall on the first of the month, which just so happened to be the day after my dry January ended, but it also meant that we had a great excuse to play at being ladies who lunch during the week.
So off we toddled down the coast road to Bexhill on Sea and the De La Warr pavilion.
Where we visited the Ladybird by Design exhibition.
It was huge, so many books, so many originals of the art works for the books.
We spent a lot of time wandering from picture to picture saying
"Oh I definatly had this one"
"I remember that one"
"I loved that book"
It was amazing how comforting the whole experience was.
Stepping back into a warm bath of childhood memories.
I managed to snap a few pics on my phone before being told off by a security guard, Hence the bad quality.
If you can go, really you should.
It was so much fun and is on till 10th May.
Love Nora xx
I love illustrations from that era! Love those books too! Sounds like a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteOh I love Ladybird books and illustrations. I'd love to go to the exhibition but we seem a bit swamped by exams at the moment, so I'll have to wait and see. Well done for completing Dry January! x

How fabulous!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny, me and the hubby were looking at the Ladybird Design book in TK Maxx on Sunday and we could remember loads of the book covers too.
I'll let you into a little secret, I had the Three Little Pigs Lady Bird book and the big bad wolf in there was so scary I used to hide it! Ha! I can remember it so well!
