When confronted with the fact that I did not celebrate the Holiest of present hauling holidays, the children gasped, took a good solid step in the other direction and generally thought me a most dangerous sort of savage.
"are you Jewish?"
No
"do you hate the baby Jesus?"
No
"cause Christmas is his birthday!"
Actually, Jesus was born at another time of year and the church co-opted a pagan holiday to get more people in the seats, and what does a fat man in a red suit have to do with the baby Jesus anyway?
And another big step away from the heretic freak.
So now I take my Christmas cues from friends and family, plus I throw in a few of my own hapless traditions that I think seem suitable. This year I am introducing the traditional giving of The Christmas Aloe Vera plant - Left on the doorstep in secret hoping to be given shelter...much like a pesky gnome.Lola Novahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14215529779296867987noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4348262449391197040.post-88534749910260473712010-12-17T22:30:10.565+00:002010-12-17T22:30:10.565+00:00Yes, yes, you are a crack pot.
